The restaurant makes its own Margaritas, Sangrias and offers both local as well as imported beers, tequilas, spirits, cocktails.

Don’t be fooled. Despite the availability of alcoholic drinks, Pickled Cactus is actually a family-friendly restaurant that offers fun activities to kids in order to keep them entertained – no, it doesn’t involve alcoholic drinks.

Pickled Cactus recently received a 2013 Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor – an award given to businesses that earn consistently high ratings from Trip Advisor reviewers.

Below are a few reviews from actual customers as culled from Trip Advisor.

According to reviewer “Redmerl,” Pickled Cactus offers: “Bad service.”

“Redmerl” explains: “I ask for water and my partner order a wine and for his friend, the wine has been serve(d) but not my water, but still I waited maybe my water will (arrive) later but it didn't come until we decide to pay the bill. I was ignored by the lady waitress!!!!”

But Trip Advisor traveler “feefeelasvegas” is happy with the restaurant’s service and food: “Great fun night with yummy food..We had a great night..its always a fun happy atmosphere, the food is super yummy and always good. I would suggest that you book over the busy weekend nights. If you love your Mexican hot this is the place for you, they run a challenge for eating super HOT Mexican. You'll love it.”

Meanwhile, Trip Advisor reviewer “Chen-au” warns potential customers to not order take away: “..take away was disgusting. Service was horrible, lady was quickly frustrated for no reason. Both partner and I ordered no beans and both got beans. I ordered chicken chimichangas and got beef and they were horribly soggy. Only thing they got right was the side salad. Not what either of us expected after paying over $60 for our meal.
I definitely will not be returning anytime soon.”

Reviewer “Kintamasan” describes Pickled Cactus as the “Best Mexican I’ve eaten.”

“Kintamasan” adds: “Not greasy like the fare normally served up at most Mexican places I've been to in Australia. Pickled Cactus dishes were filled with juicy salads and the only complaint I have for the place was the overly talkative pregnant waitress. I always bring people to this place and they always leave satisfied!”
