You are quite simply spoiled for choice when it comes to outdoor activities to enjoy in our warmer months, but that’s not where the excitement stops.

The coming months welcome not only cooler weather, but also an astounding calendar of events coming up that will draw visitors to the Gold Coast in droves. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast, enjoy music, entertainment, or cheering on others, here’s why you just can’t look past a Gold Coast holiday in 2020.

The very best outdoor activities you could ask for

Getting in or out on the water is a breeze when you are just a stone’s throw from the famous Gold Coast Broadwater. Try out jet ski tours, parasailing, boating, fishing, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, jump on a surf ski and go for a paddle. You can jump on a charter boat and enjoy a day of deep sea fishing, or opt for a sunset cruise.

You can also enjoy whale watching during the months of migration later in the year, or go swimming with dolphins or sharks at SeaWorld. The GC Aquapark is just a barrel of fun with a giant inflatable obstacle course tethered off the shoreline of the Broadwater Parklands for you to navigate your way through and try and beat the competition in getting to the finish line.

If water isn’t your cup of tea, head out to the Gold Coast hinterland regions and explore the bushwalking trails, waterfalls, treetop walks, lookouts, glow worm caves, or visit the Observatory in Springbrook to catch sight of the stars and planets up close.

Experiencing animal encounters with Australian and international wildlife has never been easier, with the famous Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary just a short drive away where you can cuddle a koala, feed wallabies, enjoy the animal shows and learn about these fascinating creatures, or go hunting for life sized dinosaurs and gruffalo along the trails.

There are also incredible opportunities to see wildlife at Dreamworld Corroboree, SeaWorld, Paradise Country, and David Fleay’s Wildlife Park. You might also catch sight of lorikeets to feed on balconies, and various other local wildlife in the National Parks and bushland surrounds. If you’re lucky you might see dolphins playing in the waves, or whales breaching off the coastline during the later months of the year.

Take advantage of the warm weather

You will love unwinding, relaxing, and recharging with a stay at Bayview Beach family accommodation and all of the wonderful on-site facilities for you to enjoy on your stay. Take refreshing dips in our outdoor sparkling swimming pool and revive both body and mind with a soak in the spa. The Sand Safari Arts Festival is an impressive lineup of larger than life sand sculptures positioned along the beach in Surfers Paradise. The Harp of the City

There will be a huge carved wooden instrumental harps available for the public to try their hand at, placed along the beachfront amongst the sand art installations. Created by artists Joseph Burgess and Joshua Wilkinson, these are as beautiful to behold as they are inviting to play, and each has its own special design and sound.

Migration Soldier Crabs

Over the course of the festival, an installation including over 500 soldier crabs will spread over the Surfers Paradise beach as part of the contemporary installation designs by Clayton Blake. This incredible internationally acclaimed artist has also joined forces this year with Courtenay McCue to present eight huge tentacles positioned at Cavill Mall, telling the story of fairy tale creatures on the streets of Surfers Paradise.

The Artist Plaza

Cavill Mall hosts The Artist Plaza over the span of the festival, with an array of artworks from new artists right through to established artists in line with the SandSafari theme.
